TKTS= Too Kind To Scalpers

And what about all those Iron Men and Spider-Men and Minnie Mouse characters harassing folks for tips?  Do you complain to Disney and Marvel, etc, that they aren't doing anything about this?

It's NYC.  You have to be a little bit tough to get around, but just ignore folks you don't want to talk to.  DO NOT ENGAGE and you won't get harassed.

Can you provide a link of anyone arrested in the last decade for selling a ticket in PA for more than face value?!

I would love to see the city make that illegal. Its gotten ridiculous.

The places they can stand and solicit are pretty clearly marked and they generally obey the rules.  They are SO easy to ignore/avoid.  Unless you have children, in which case it will take a bit of work.

We had a no scalping law in effect in Jacksonville, for years.  It was never enforced.  About four to five years ago the city removed the law.  I have never sold a ticket for more value.  (Not that I am against it).  I was usually just happy in getting something back for it.  If a concert/event has not sold well, it is a buyer's market.  If sold out, a seller's market.  The only negative feedback you may have nowadays, and it doesn't matter what you are selling  the ticket for, is, many venues will not let you stand on what they consider their property.  At least that has been my experience.

Nope. I don't do it and don't know anyone else that does it. Just saying what the ticket has on it.

One should never purchase a ticket on the street.  The bar code can be turned off and the only way to know is when the ticket is scanned.

One idea (not that realistic but if the price is below face), ask the scalper to accompany you to the theater (without giving them money).  Have it scanned and pay at that time.

One guy once tried to sell me a clearly photocopied Hamilton ticket for $200 for a show that had started 10 minutes prior right outside the theatre. That took balls

By the letter of the law what you suggest above is illegal since business can not be conducted within 500 feet of the box office.
