Well, shows that closed just got a video thing.
Though it would be great if David Turner and the skeleton came back to do SECRETS!

I predict Threepenny Opera will do "Mack the Knife" since it is the most recognizable song from the show. Plus, Cyndi sings it, I think they'll want to show her off.

But what I was hearing was that they were going to do their commercial instead of pay for a slot. That must be B.S as it turns out, but, as I said, it was rumour that I'd heard and nothing was confirmed. Matthew Sklar said in his first known comment about being nominated today that he was looking forward to his show's performance.

I know lots of people expect The Drowsy Chaperone to do 'Show Off,' but I'm hoping for 'Bride's Lament.' More fun than a barrel full of monkeys!
And I know they don't usually include closed shows in the performances, but I would love to see Judy Kaye do 'Queen of the Night' one more time in her best/worst Florence Foster Jenkins voice, and I'm crossing my fingers that Chita Rivera and Dick Van Dyke are asked to duet on 'Rosie.'

"Toledo Surprise" is an absolutely terrible song, they would be stupid to perform it. I actually really dislike the entire DROWSY CHAPERONE score.
I think the shows SHOULD (not will) perform:
THE COLOR PURPLE: "The Color Purple"
THE DROWSY CHAPERONE: "Show Off" into the Finale
THE WEDDING SINGER: "It's Your Wedding Day"
JERSEY BOYS: "Can't Take My Eyes..." into "Who Loves You"
THE PAJAMA GAME: "Once was a Man" into "The Pajama Game"
SWEENEY TODD: "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd" into "Priest"
THREEPENNY OPERA: "Ballad of Mack the Knife", what else?

"Show Off" and the Tango and then "Wedding Bells"
but it should start out with the man in the chair doing the start of the show

Posted: 5/17/06 at 1:29amI really hope Jersey Boys will do something a little different. I agree with you dreamflyer22 that with JLY's nom, "Can't take my eyes off of you," should be sung (and most likely will be), but I just really wish they would mix it up a little (my ideal? Sherry, Big Man in Town and Opus 17 from the medley).
