wikipedia says she is 32. 32-13=19.

she was a replacement swing and then a replacement Mimi on the tour in 1998... and i thought she then joined the Bway cast as a swing in spring of 1999, where i know she stayed for 2+ years...

She wasn't in Rent in 96. They have that wrong. It was on Broadway in I think 98.
She is in her 30s, my Dad thought she was 23 when she was in In The Heights.
She is so sweet, I love her whole attitude and everything she says.

Posted: 5/10/09 at 11:08pmI think Karen made her debut as a swing on Broadway in 1997, left to do the tour, and then came back to Broadway in 1999. She said on Seth's Chatterbox that she had originally auditioned for the Canadian tour, while still in college, but they brought her to Broadway as a swing instead.

i know she replaced a pretty awful swing in 1999, understudying maryc harriell's mimi. she was passed over again and again to replace the many departing mimis and maureens, which is a shame, bec she was particularly fantastic in the latter role.
anyway it all worked out for her in the end, i guess.

In the Theatre it takes some years to work on your craft and talent, I actually think her best roles are yet to come.
Many Great Actresses come into their heights in their 30's or even 50's, or Stritch.
