#1TRACES in Chicago...B'way this year?
Posted: 11/6/10 at 12:02pmThis show TRACES opened in Chicago to raves yesterday. Apparently it's a new version of a show that's played around the world...Does anyone know if its going to Broadway? I asked someone in the lobby and they said it was going to Los Angeles next, and then they would decide. I thought it was AMAZING. It was sort of like STOMP meets cirque. There also some great moments of music and visuals that were stunning.

Posted: 11/6/10 at 5:22pmI wouldn't be surprised... it got GREAT reviews, and word of mouth has been great as well. I could see this opening for a limited run in NY. Like along the lines as Soul of Shaolin... just to give the theatre a source of income between shows.

Posted: 11/6/10 at 11:13pmA few friends were invited to a preview and they absolutely RAVED about it. They described it as a mix between Cirque du Soliel, Stomp, and a Broadway Musical. Never heard of this before but I just may have to check it out...

Posted: 11/9/10 at 2:04amI'm sure they'd love a stop in NY (it's more an Off-Broadway show) but my understanding is that they're trying to get a full US Tour going after their initial long runs in Chicago, LA and (I think) Denver.

It's already played Broadway. Sort of. Well, Off-Broadway I guess.
It ran at the Victory Theatre (next to Hilton/Foxwood) a few years ago (2008?). But I think there's an extra cast member in the show now. But yah, I would love to see this again. It's just amazing watching them do what they do.

I'll check this out in LA in Jan...its playing at the Montalban Theater which is also a Nike pop up store...kinda cool...
While Im not a fan of these sorts of shows, the reviews have got me looking to buy tickets...
