BONNIE FRANKLIN as Rose?? Now I've heard everything. Seriously - they couldn't get some Broadway leading lady for this? There are plenty hanging around not working at the moment. Raise your hand if you think Ms. Franklin is going to pack the house.
Armageddon
But Rath, my love, the place is a barn, tickets are under $20 and they pack it with Senior bus tours. They'll love Bonnie! I only live ten minutes away and you can have your own room. Won't you come?
*thinks hard*
I saw Eddie Mekka there about 9 years ago in a production of Forum. I believe he plaed Pseudelus (sp?).
Okay SOMMS - I'll do it - on one condition - Mackenzie Phillips plays Louise, Valerie Bertinelli plays June, and Pat Harrington plays Herbie.
which DRACULA are they doing? musical or the play?
Buck's County Playhouse and Pocono Playhouse (the theatre I work at) are sister theatres. They split the shows into two groups, each group having it's individual cast, and one group performs their shows at one theatre while the other group is performing their shows at the other theatre, than they switch (i hope that made sense)
The Children's Theatre (where I work) uses different casts at each theatre.
Eddie Mekka has been with Bucks/Pocono for a long time now. He is a ok performer sometimes but usually treats every show as the EDDIE MEKKA SHOW (which can get quite annoying).
I am interested in seeing how the other tv actors do (and they usually come to see our shows and talk to us in the dressing rooms giving us advice).
Well, to be fair, Bonnie did get a Tony nomination for Applause. Her one and only Broadway role.

My grandparents have a condo in New Hope. Maybe I'll catch some shows this summer. Haven't been there in a while.

OMG! I thought Bucks County Playhouse was like only known to the Philadelphians...lol
I live like 10 minutes away from there. It's absolutely beautiful! In HS we went there once for my photography class and took pictures of the town. New Hope is such a great place!! And if you are visiting New Hope, you gotta go to Peddler's Village. Such cute little stores and restaurants!
I actually was an usher one year when a friend of mine was in a play. That was back like 6-7 years ago. I actually went to audition there one year but backed out at the last minute after this one little girl auditioned and she was like 6 and doing singing in the rain and had a cute little umbrella! I knew I couldn't compare to her, but I did stay and watch the rest of the auditions.
DRACULA is the play version that Frank Langella did back in '78.
I think Peter Weller is great casting. Cheekbones for days!

I had always heard that Bucks Co was non-eq. Has that changed?
Chev- I believe (but am not positive) that they hire "high profile" equity actors as the leads (with permission from Equity) but that everything else is non-eq. Childrens Theatre is exclusivly non-eq and is usually for High School and College actors.

You are all over-looking the one splendiforous aspect of the Bucks County season:
LORETTA SWIT WILL BE THERE IN JUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This deity of the theater will perform in LOVE LETTERS.
I am so there!
What the hell took you so long?
Loretta Switt in "Same Time Next Year" too. Interesting Season. Haven't been there in a few years. Saw Fiddler there in 1980.Is Mama's Restaurent still open in New Hope, Jacob? Guess it's time for a visit.
BC Playhouse must have gotten some funding over the past year. I had a iscusion with their artistic dir. about presenting a show there about 18 mos .ago They were not in such good shape.
Good to see them come back to life. A friends of mine plays there occassionally.
PB- I work up at Pocono and have only been downn to Buck's twice, so I do not know the area that well.
If you decide to come see a show and it is playing at Pocono as well as Buck's I invite you to come up here. We get very little money from the owner (everything goes to Buck's) but there are always good shows. If you get a chance come see a children's show, and if I'm in it come see me when the show is done.

And, for those of us old enough, who can forget Bonnie introducing the world to Stove Top Stuffing?
Look out Texas. There's a new Rose in town. And she's not even British.
