HEM, the indie folk rock band that is providing the musical score for Daniel Sullivan's production of TWELFTH NIGHT, will be releasing an album of their score to the show. It's available for preorder on their site now.
The link says that the album will feature "special performances from the original cast including Audra McDonald, Raul Esparza, David Pittu and Jon Patrick Walker."

Ooh thanks! I loved the music ~ it reminded me of my trip to Dublin last year! Definitely putting this on my purchase list!
Thanks for the info! I also loved the music, and it'll be great to have the cast's performances recorded.

Did anyone else get sort of a Decemberists vibe from the score? Definitely going to check them out!

Thanks so much! That's fabulous. I loved the music.
Interesting, I just saw The Decemberists last week and their music didn't come to mind that I recall while at the play.

I have to say, having seen Twelfth Night last night, that I just kept wishing Esparza had a bit more to sing. David Pittu's voice is fine, but I desperately wanted more Raul...love his voice!
I approve. Wish Esparza had been given more to sing as well, though.
Does Anne Hathaway sing in the show?
Yes, and her voice is very pretty.
I wanted Raul to sing more, too, but, well, hello. I also had kind of a hard time hearing him at a few points.
So glad to hear this! I loved all the music in the show, especially David Pittu's songs.

The first song was my favorite, I think. The trio between Hathaway, Pittu...and...Esparza? I cannot remember, but I remember being very moved by the harmonies.

"I wanted Raul to sing more, too, but, well, hello. I also had kind of a hard time hearing him at a few points."
That's odd, because when I saw it I felt like his mic was turned up MUCH higher than everyone else's.
When did you see it? Maybe they're still figuring out the right balance. I was sitting dead center in the front section, and particularly when he was singing way over on stage right, I could only hear his voice if I was really looking for it. (I promise this isn't just me wanting more Raul, heh.
It sounded like he was turned way down.)
Ah! Emcee, you're back to normal!
And yay, another Twelfth Night album for my iPod! And why NOT? ^_^
Bobby? Yeah, he came back a few weeks ago.
Yeah, Raul was hard to hear at times. I'd be losing his part in the harmonies and then during the long notes his vibrato would kick in and... order restored.
Has anyone tried to order this yet? Do you know when it will be released?
I'm very much looking forward to this album as well. I was surprised at how much care and creativity had gone into the music. It was certainly many steps above most of the melodies I've heard in Shakespeare plays.
When I was there I could only hear Raul during harmonies when his voice was pitched above everyone else's. Otherwise it was difficult to distinguish his voice among the others.
