Anyone know anything about this Boy George musical? All I know is that Asa S. is understudying the Boy George roll...anyone know who else is in it?

So far:
Euan Morton as Boy George
Raul Esparza as Philip Sallon
"Boy" George O'Dowd as Leigh Bowery
Sarah Uriarte-Berry as Nicola (Bateman/Bowery)
Cary Shields as Marcus (Can anyone confirm this is the role he is cast for?)
Of these 5 roles, Marcus is the only ficticious character.
Recently Boy George was asked on UK TV if the Kelly Osbourne rumours were true. His reply: Over my dead body, I'm not being funny, but we need people who can really sing.

Posted: 6/26/03 at 8:39pmWeren't there some legal problems with the audience participation? I believe the producers were scared that if they used the same amount of participation as in London, people would be suing? I guess the participation is intense!

Er, not intense, just bitchy! And Boy George may sit on your lap wearing a green feathered tutu

Cary's casting was reported on Broadway.com today. One more reason to see this show...
Cary's badly outdated website
re: re: Taboo#18
Posted: 6/28/03 at 12:32pmI'd like to see this show. But I'd have to go alone because I don't think my mother would enjoy a musical about Boy George. I think she's afraid of him...as wrong as that is.

Asa Somers from "Dance Of The Vampires" is supposed to be cast in the ensemble, and is also understudying for the lead character!

Yes, he is understudying the role of Boy George.
Does anyone know if this occurs in any other show? A real life character being portrayed on stage, whilst that real life character portrays someone else!

Posted: 6/29/03 at 12:46amI hate that ad! Has anyone seen it in times square? We must discuss.

Posted: 6/29/03 at 2:19amThe casting just makes me more and more excited to see this show. Although ideally I'd like to see it play at Circle In The Square. *sigh* Oh well! Maybe I just miss Rocky Horror. :)

Posted: 6/29/03 at 4:44amBy the way, that's the real Leigh Bowery, not an actor, in that ad.

Posted: 6/29/03 at 5:38amThats not a bad idea! It should have booked The Circle in the Square. Perfect theatre for participation!
