Calling all Boy George, Taboo, Broadway musical, Rosie O'Donnell, 80s music and pop culture fans:

I need your help. Please sign my petition to get a commercially released DVD of the Broadway Taboo musical starring the original broadway cast. Sign and pass it along to your friends and family to sign and spread the word about the petition. Taboo was taken away too soon from us and it deserves to keep going and have a life of its own.

Thanks!

Linda

Never Gonna Happen. The show is over and they're not going to release promotional and document footage.

I knew that BFO petition would spark more. And I knew the others wouldn't be likely.

It's not worth it to them, financially. Why do you think the show closed so early?? Because of poor sales.

Now do you think they are going to hire back the cast, get all the set and costumes back, rent a theatre, and spend the money on paying everyone and recording the show, and then paying to get DVDs made for the show, and then spend money on promoting it, only so that 5,000 people will buy it for $20 for a total of $100,000 back in revenue?

I don't think so.

But I wish it were on DVD.

For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

No problem signing, Linda...

You *did* sign my petition for The Boy From Oz on DVD, after all...

DIDN"T YOU!?!?!? :)

Good luck with your petition, sweetie. It is an uphill battle.

There's a London TABOO on DVD with Boy George and Euan Morton, released in 2003, at least.

Isn't Rosie releasing a DVD of the documentary of the making of Taboo? I assume that would have significant portions of the show. I doubt there would be a market for a separate DVD of the whole show.

Sorry, je suis rude.

I work for a company that deals with "TB's" (teenie boppers).

I see stupid petitions all the time. Sad people think just because they get a thousand signatures that these big corporations have to listen to them.

"Petition for all the stars of LORD OF THE RINGS to come to Trenton, NJ to meet me!!!"

"Petition for Orlando Bloom to do a nude photo shoot!"

Stupid, stupid people. And some of these aren't even kids!

Anyway, no, won't happen.

They are never going to release the Bway taboo on DVD. There is a documentary opening soon.

Is this available to the masses? And does it have Raul Esparza?

I love these shows but come on you guys. This all junk to the mainstream marketplace. We are the only one's who would buy it. CATS is the exception cause its so damn popular. It's not gonna happen.

You guys can't just start a petition for shows with casts you want after the casts have left. It just doesn't work like that. Petitions for these types of things (as a rule) don't work anyways.

And no, the TABOO from London does not have Raul Esparza. He was not in the London production.

Yeah, it is. It is region 2, I believe so make sure your DVD player is region free before buying it. You can buy them on Amazon.com

Actually, I just went to Amazon and didn't see it listed anymore. I'll try to find someplace that sells it. I can't even remember where I got mine from.

It's all about the human spirit to believe.

I'm signing it. That show meant too much to me not to even try. :)

That's odd... maybe they discontinued it if it wasn't selling. Is the show still running in London?

go to euanmorton.com, there's a link there.

It closed before George and Euan came to the US over the summer to prepare for the Broadway Taboo.
It was touring though and ended in July.
