As much as I enjoyed the play and production and feel it has something to say about the consequences of being true to oneself, I can't help feeling the plot of the play is a bit juvenile and much ado about nothing. And since I do, the nudity used to illustrate and dramatize the conflict seemed hardly shocking at all to me but rather...adolescent.
Nonetheless, after overhearing a number of conversations around me, I was impressed by the number of straight men who were totally comfortable with the story and one in particular who, when pressed by his wife to comment on the gay aspects of the play, responded, "It's a love letter to baseball, period." And he's right.

lol, this is all so funny, lol. Make the actor get an erection in the show every night, lol, oh, lol.

I agree with Erik and broadwayguy about the nudity in TMO. I think if as a straight man, a viewer is uncomfortable in those scenes, then he is reacting the way Greenberg and Mantello wanted him to. And if we gay guys enjoy these scenes, then we are reacting the way they wanted us to as well. I can't understand the big deal when magazines and movies are filled with naked women all the time and then we get a fuss made over a popular play with male nudity. I think the confrontation scene between Sunjata and Weller HAS to be staged with them naked.

o please, i just read the linked article and this is what it said

and you're saying the nudity isnt gratuitous!????

please stop covering up, lol, it's just with what we were all arguing about the nudity, if the paper basically says bring some popcorn, lube and tissue then it's pretty gratuitous, lol.
