Anyone else heard the demo? It's very interesting. What does everyone else think? Updated On: 6/17/06 at 07:18 PM
Sounds like a more generic LES MIZ to me. Hopefully, the production will bring it to a better light. Isn't this planned for Chicago next season?

How did you get it?
It's available on the website.
I think it's decent, there are a few songs I really like. It has potential.
It has too many Les Mis moments for me.
I really like it. One or two of the dramatic songs go a bit over the top, and Madame Defarge sounds like she wandered into the wrong show while trying to find the "Rent" auditions -- in other words, completely out of place in the 18th century. I think it's mostly the way her songs are written. But everything else is fine. The upbeat numbers are particularly good, and Sydney Carton's songs, especially the finale, are exactly right. (And this English major and Dickens fan is very particular about the way Sydney Carton is portrayed! )
Yes, website.

tophertilson- Tale of Two Cities will be coming to Broadway this fall/winter. There was an article awhile back saying that they didn't plan to do an out of town try out at all, instead they would be opening on Broadway, closing the show for a month to make changes, and then re-opening for previews and an official opening night. So they shouldn't be going to Chicago at all.
Thanks craftymarley!
