Tale of Two Cities Understudy Question
Tale of Two Cities Understudy Question#1
Posted: 10/7/08 at 5:06pmDoes anybody know if James Barbour or Aaron Lazar are going to out of Tale of Two Cities on Thrusday the 9th? Cause I am going to see it and its the first time and I would like to see it with the two best people(so I've heard). It would kill me if they were out so let me know if they have been out or are going to be. Thanks! =)

Posted: 10/7/08 at 7:09pmI wanted to know the same thing because I am going back to see it next week. I was told the only reason he would be out is if he is sick. He was so wonderful you are going to love it!!!
re: Tale of Two Cities Understudy Question#2
Posted: 10/7/08 at 7:38pmI don't think that there are going to be any planned absences from the show. Short of someone getting sick and not being able to perform. You should have a full cast.

re: Tale of Two Cities Understudy Question#4
Posted: 10/8/08 at 12:30amI went to college with one of the Darnay understudies, Eric Van Tielen, and he has one of the most gorgeous tenors you will ever hear. No one can replace Barbour though--he makes the show. I doubt he will be out, but if he is I suggest asking for an exchange.
re: Tale of Two Cities Understudy Question#5
Posted: 10/8/08 at 1:46amI don't think you can get an exchange if Barbour or any of the leads are out. This is because no one in the show has above the title billing.
re: Tale of Two Cities Understudy Question#6
Posted: 10/9/08 at 4:20amWell, I think that's good, winston. I think the whole cast deserves to be on equal footing, it makes for better output. Anyway, the outstanding performances will be noted, and will receive their deserved Tony's nod, very likely.

I saw Lazar's understudy, Michael Halling, and he was absolutely incredible.
Easily the most memorable performance of the night.
