Talk of Beyonce in Dreamgirls Again

The topic has been hashed to death but I figured since BWW has an article about it in the main page, I could bring it up again. The part is hers to accept or reject.

Destiny's child is scheduled to tour when the movie is going to be filmed I believe, but I think she's trying to get out of doing anything with DC because their current CD is selling just as well as her solo CD and I don't think her camp wants that because it might force her to work with Destiny's Child again.

Thetruth I don't *get* that last comment. Destiny's Child *is* Beyoncé's camp. Her father is their manager. The same people that handles her solo efforts, and for that matter Kelly and Michelle's are the same management team. There is no conflict of interest here and no "forcing" of Beyoncé to do *anything*. She isn't performing with "Destiny's Child" against her will, DC is family to her. The only conflict I see is if she does get the movie it will disrupt any DC tour plans.

I admit that statement can be a bit misleading, but there definitly is a seperation between Beyonce "the solo artist" and Beyonce "member of Destiny's Child. The way I see it, Beyonce is the most driven of the group. I think she really wants to be in the industry for the long haul. Michelle is the weakest and I think she's more interested in doing the Gospel thing. Kelly, was on her way to the altar and a family, but she's postponed that (rumor has it her fiance is a 304) My opinion comes from what they've said in interviews. In one interview Beyonce said that she didn't see another DC record in the forseeable future, maybe when they were 27-28.

I don't mean that she would be "forced" into doing a record, but Columbia records definitly wants that Beyonce solo money and that DC money. This last record was so rushed because Columbia was adamant about keeping them on a deadline. If the DC project didnt do well then they would have an obvious excuse not to work together again. Compared to their last two CDs, DC has been keeping a very low profile. For "Survivor" they were everywhere. For this CD, they started out strong, but they've kinda layed low for the last couple months.

And it's obvious that even though her camp is the same as DC's her father is extremely loyal to her and he's going to try and get her whatever she wants. The plan has always been to take care of Beyonce because Kelly and Michelle's solo efforts were barely promoated.

I'm a lil sleepy here so let me know if this is makin sense.

I see it this way. Beyoncé's success as a solo artist and DC's success really just *feed off* one another. If Beyoncé does great on her own then DC benefits when they get together and vice-versa.
I'm pretty sure they will go their seperate ways eventually.

I don't think Michelle can hang much longer. And lord knows they can't switch members again.

I just don't want to see her in Dreamgirls! She's ok but after her domination at the Oscars, singing 3 songs, I was pretty much over her. And she really didn't do a great job on 2 of them. Her voice just wasn't suited for the songs. That's just my opinion.

I think her voice is suited for Dreamgirls though.
