Hello, I am currently thinking of putting on a production of Cabaret and sent in a Licence request. I was wondering if anyone knows on average how much rights to Tams Whitmark's shows are. I was planning on 4 performances in a house that seats 90

Royalties are a flat 200 a show, 900 if you are going to have an audience.

"Royalties are a flat 200 a show, 900 if you are going to have an audience."
Wha....?
If you're going to have an audience? What other option is there, doing it in an empty theater?
That info just doesn't make sense.

If allofmylife keeps bitching it's going to be 47 dollars a show! Plus tax!
And if you want to do one of their shows from their Tams Whitmark Selects Collection they are $1150 per performance. The Selects are any shows that were written after 1971. And any shows with the word "and" in them.
Thanks "Phyllis Rogers Stone"........
If we do 4 shows and sell out every show for $7 a seat our entire net profit would be $2520. Do they usually charge more then 100% of your companies income??

Usually. Sometimes you can barter, but often the price is steep. My friend Judy had to give them her daughter!
cello_dude, I'm afraid you're getting BS'ed here. Call Tams Witmark up (their number is toll free at 800-221-7196.) I've fdone business with them many times and they are not going to bight.

I'd never BS. Never even WS.
Any time anyone mentions "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," Judy starts to cry and whispers, "I miss you, Morgan."
this definately didnt go in the direction I wanted it to
Sorry. There are bumps in every road. Give them a call, they'll ask a few questions and give you a quote. I've dealt with all three (TW, R&HO and MTI) and have rarely had a problem.

Act now before June 1. After then the prices are going up to $1600 a performance and $1925 a performance if the audience is comprised of more than one gender.

Do they still demand that orange drink be served at intermission?

I'm pretty sure they do. And it has to be served by biracial pygmies.

Usually its 10% of the ticket price, but each show is scaled differently. For instance there are several versions of Cabaret that you can rent, the most recent revival would cost more than the original. You must also remember that you must rent the scripts, vocal books, and orchestral parts thats on top of the royalties. You must contact them, and fill out a questionaire reguarding the organization, seating capacity, scale of ticket prices, whether you are using an orchestra, or just a piano(they also rent a orchestral combo pack) Even if you were not charging admission you would still have to pay for everything I mentioned. Good luck.

Please a non-refundable deposit equal to 200% of the show's original Broadway investment.
I bet you'll pay 1000 to 1200 for the entire run. It does, however, depend on the show. At MTI, if it's a popular show, they charge more (good business, I guess). Our theatre seats 99, and we do six performances, and we pay 1400 to 1700 per musical, depending. :O)
I knew there will still some decent people who would help you here.

Like you have any room to talk, what with the way your industry steals Broadway actors. Talk about lack of decency!
I don't take a dump on well meaning posters.

Okay, sometimes in my pants, but only after bad Mexican food.
