I did not love the production but it was worth the price of admission to see the world's most elegant butterfly.
Love, ya, Andy Pellick. Additionally, Shuler is fantastic.
I had a lot of fun at Tarzan. I don't want it to close, Andy belongs on Broadway.

I love Jenn Gambatese back on Broadway

I thought Jenn was okay in ALL SHOOK UP, but she is no better in TARZAN.
TARZAN needs to close. The entire show is a mess.

Thats sad, munkustrap.
I really like her.
Does she have ANY stand out moments in the show?

All they have to do is feed Tarzan. He is so hot, but so skinny.
Chester would have been a sexier Tarzan.
The dancers are great in Tarzan.

Everyone in TARZAN is talented - that's not what's in question.
The reason this show fails is the incapability of David Henry Hwang and Bob Crowley.

Munk is so right about Hwang and Crowley. The Phil Collins songs were also a huge problem for me. I liked how they were presented in the film... they were just bizarre and except for few I didn't really know what the point was. Also I hate the vocal runs Kala does on her songs. It's like she is trying way to hard.
Hmm I haven't written a review of this show.. but could I! Does anyone else have a problem with the characters looking off stage when they are speaking to each other? It is really amateurish direction.
I just wonder where the focus was on the show, and if they just gave up at some point. The only person that seems to talk anymore is Phil Collins and he is apparently not reading reviews.

I saw the show this past Saturday. I didn't think the show was as bad as everyone is saying. Granted it is no Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. I thought it was a different way to present a peice of theatre, it was unique. I happened to like the rigging I thought it worked for the show. The opening number was just stunning! the 7 year olds weren't the only one's a little scarred from the opening! I wasn't sure if I liked all the voices singing offstage. (Although, I would NOT want to see that done for Little Mermaid!) I liked the orchestrations of the original songs. The newer ones I didn't care for (I remember liking two of them though)
I have to agree the Jungle was a bit messy, and I thought the whole 40ft Spider thing was COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY! But, Natasha Katz's lighting made it a little better to look at at times.
caught by surprise
