I just bought a ticket to DEH for Friday 11/10 on Telecharge and then found out that Rachel Bay Jones is out that day. Think they’ll give me a refund? I would try to sell it but I set it as box office pick up and so I won’t have the actual ticket.
You probably don't want this answer, but I'd still go see it if I were you. Garrett is amazing (I've heard audios of her) and the show itself is amazing, too. Also, Ben Platt should be on that day, and his performance is not one to be missed. In fact, it will be extra special since that will be very close to his last performance date.
It will be at the discretion of the box office. If you call Telecharge, they’ll put you on hold while they call the Music Box. Unless they’ve changed the bill recently, Jones isn’t above the title, so based on my understanding the box office isn’t required to give a refund but might since she is one of the production’s Tony-winning stars.
You’d probably have more luck with an exchange if that fits your schedule, which I know firsthand Telecharge can do over the phone!
While I adore Rachel, you DO NOT want to miss Bens performance

From what I've seen:
They don't have to give you a refund but they probably will
You can try, but she's not above the title, so the standard answer would be no. But, since it's selling very well, they might! Good luck.

Good luck with the management at the Music Box. When I went to see Pippin on my birthday, Patina, was out. I asked not for a refund, but an exchange. Even offered to stand even though I paid over a $100 for my ticket. Was flatly refused. Hopefully for you, that guy has moved on, either on his own or by his superiors.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I’ve been lucky to see the show twice now and I actually can’t imagine it without RBJ. Her performance really means a lot to me. I hope that I can get a refund or somehow get the ticket in hand so I can sell it. Thanks again.
If you’ve already seen it twice and had the desire to go see it once more, than I’d definitely go and see Garret. I’ve heard great things! There will also most likely be a vacation swing there, so you never know! Would be nice to see Ben in his final weeks, too. But of course, it’s your money and you have already seen it.

Where is the seat and what's the face value on the ticket? I may be interested in purchasing it from you.
