For all Telly fans who live in the ILWI area. For most, you know that he left Wicked in Chicago on July 2nd, after a fantastic run. He will be in a weekend-long run of a regional production of Sweeney Todd in Madison August 12-14th, he'll be playing Tobias!!! woot. Just an FYI for everyone!!

SO excited. Meg, you should re-name this to Telly Leung in Sweeney Todd or something like that... it'll get more interest I think.
I wish I could see him as Tobias. Im sure hell be amazing.
I wanna see "more" of Telly in NYC.
Get back soon!
well according to Telly himself he may have something in the works back "home", aka NYC...so be excited. I'm kinda curious to know what project it is. NYC definitely deserves to see Telly back on the stage and SOON!
He did say "someday in Oz." Maybe he's transferring to the Broadway show.
Perhaps, but he told me and my cousin(we do his fansite BRIGHT) that he wants to kind of separate himself from Wicked for at least a little while, afterall he has played Boq for a year, and is looking for projects which will hopefully "expand his horizons" as an actor. So who knows. I'm just excited to see what his next project will be!!

I'm excited to hear about Telly in Sweeney too. He's doing it with a fairly new theater company called Four Seasons Theatre. I've heard nothing but great things about them from colleagues of mine. Their website is www.fourseasonstheatre.com
Yay Telly! He has an awesome voice! I cannot wait to hear about him in Sweeney!
He was such a sweetie at the stage door, I would love to see him in this role.
Can I just say "Oh my Gosh". I'm so happy right now, I'm in THIS production, and had nothing to do with this posting....Dang, it's so exciting that our show is getting so much good buzz in the area and apparently in the theatre community as well. Telly comes in for the last two weeks, I'm sure he will be awesome in the show and amazing to work with. I hope all of you that are in the area can make it!
Lukeboy...I'm A: really jealous cuz Telly is such an awesome person to work with and B: definitely going to come and see it. So yay!! Hope the entire run goes well for you!!
~Meg~
Thanks Meg!
~Bump~
Telly is going to be wonderful in the production. This is the same company in which I performed Jamie in "the Last 5 Years" last year and I actually had to turn down going back to do Sweeney as well. They use a lot of local amateur and professional talent (UW has quite good artists) with a growing influx of New York talent (and, if they skyrocket, I can always say I was the first!). If you're in the area, you won't be sorry you caught the show. I know Telly will be excellent and their Mrs. Lovett is phenomenal (she's one of their homegrown stars).

GAH. I am so so so excited for this. Just think, we totally wouldn't have known about it (or posted about it!) had my ridiculous friend Adam not been wandering the farmer's market in a dazed stupor and been handed a Sweeney flyer. Thankfully he didn't throw it away; he thought I'd like it because it was Sweeney related... and then he recognized Telly's name. I'm so glad he did... Whew!
Lukeboy: That's great! You know for sure then that Meg and I will definitely be there. :] Can you give us a little glimpse of what costumes and set will look like?
Yeah, Al, can you imagine? If Adam hadnt been randomly "lost" in Madison we never would have known...and we would have missed out on an awesome show!! I am so excited to see this...I know there's that whole going to ireland thing...but is it August yet? I want to see Telly AND SWEENEY!! GAAAAAAAHHHHH!!
As far as the design of the production goes the only thing I can say is that it won't be the traditional industrial look. It won't be "Sweeney in Space" or anything disturbing like that but not exactly what you'd expect either. Just have to wait and see......
AAAAGGGHHH Lukeboy, you're totally leaving us in suspense...which is kinda good. But at least it wont be Sweeney in Space...I had visions of Sweeney flying around shavingkilling them...lol. That would just be weird. But yay! This makes me even more excited to see your production. So here's a question...what part do you play, or are you just ensemble? Either one, I am EXTREMELY jealous. My College did Sweeney last semester and I wasnt able to audition due to Choir responsibilities.
Playbill Online put up a release about Telly in this production. Excellent.

For those of you interested, the Wisconsin State Journal has a very interesting article about Telly and Sweeney Todd which opens next weekend in Madison.

If I go I'll give my review!!
I adore Sweeney, and Telly is so great at Sondheim....it should be great.
