I see he's in the reading - does that mean he'll be in the play in 2010? Haven't seen him in anything since "Lennon" and wondering what's up next for him on Broadway....
yeah, i saw that too. Who do you think he's playing? Lurch? it would be great to see him onstage again.

The Playbill article notes that Zachary James will perform the role of Lurch. I'm assuming Terrence Mann will be playing Col. Mal Beineke, a role played by Jeff McCarthy in past workshops/readings.

I hope the current workshop cast does the musical.

Mann was in the workshop cast of LEAP OF FAITH. Wonder if that means LOF is on the back burner for now?
I was excited when I saw that too! And I thought Lurch right away...but did see whoever else was playing Lurch...
And for the record, Mr. Mann has been busy with directing I'd assume? Wasn't he (or atleast he did) the resident director at a place in North Carolina? And hasn't he been credited to write atleast one musical (Romeo & Juliet is ringing a bell)...I could be entirely wrong but I thought that's whats up with him, on top of him having two kids,... & a wife who is still performing!
He'd be GREAT in it, I'm sure
pli1018 is correct with that assumption.
Cool! It'd be great to see him back on Broadway again...
Then I'd have MORE creepy facial expressions to add to my icon!
Seriously, I hope he ends up in the show.
Officially petitioning for Raul Esparza as Gomez and Remy Zaken as Wednesday.
My first thought was Lurch as well and I'm kind of disappointed.
Don't know why you are "disappointed". I believe that the role Terrence Mann is playing is a nice-sized supporting role, I know it is the father of the "non-monster" family (originally, Jeff McCarthy, Mary Birdsong and Michael Arden). So I'm sure he has a good role.
As for Lurch, in my opinion, there is no one better than Zach. I know him very well and he has an INCREDIBLE operatic baritone voice. If I remember correctly, he told me that in the last reading, the character of Lurch doesn't speak at all (or only a little) for the majority of the show and has a song towards the end of Act 2. Also, he is 6'5"!!! Here is a pic of him on 30 Rock next to Steve Martin and Tina Fey, you can obv. see his look is perfect for Lurch. He has a website with more photos and clips, check it out if you want to hear/see more...

I can't wait for this! So exciting!
way back when, I used to have a huge crush on gorgeoso Terrence V. Mann. I also had a huge crush on Tim Curry, who sorta looked like Terrence when they both were younger. Both, the nicest and most talented people you'd ever want to meet and have cocktails with. I did with Curry, 20 yrs. ago and am still "happy"..ha ha. That guy was *fierce* in MY FAVORITE YEAR.

Raúl physically doesn't look like Gomez should. Raúl in another role, ok, as Gomez not so much.
I will be very upset though, if Bebe Neuwirth doesn't continue to Broadway with this.
And yes, Tim Curry and Terrence Mann look really scarily similar, enough so that when I saw the ACL movie I thought "That guy should play Frank N. Furter!" Little did I know...

I would be very excited if this transferred to Broadway with the workshop cast.
I agree Terry wouldn't be right for Lurch, but would be happy to see him in the show!
Lurch doesn't speak! He grunts. Unless they've found some clever way around that, I imagine Mann would have more to sing in his current role.

Wait - Terrence Mann was Larry in the ACL movie?
HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS?
