"Even if you may not have used the exact word abolished, the title of your thread was "No More Stage Door Autographs" and you argued that the practice should be stopped. If you want to say now you just asked what purpose it served and what would happen if the practice stopped cause you weren't sure where you stood on it and wanted to see what everyone thought, you can try that but we both know why you started the thread and what you were saying you wanted to see happen. And if you think the request that the cast member got from your daughter's student was the only one she got that week or even that day you can, but I bet she gets letters requesting signed programs, autograph requests and favors of various types all the time. I'm sure she tries to respond and help out as many as she has time for because she's a good person. And I'm sure it's just as much of a imposition on her personal time as 10-15 minutes at the stage door after a show. Some might say that either a person approves of imposing on a performer's personal time at a stage door or by mail to ask for a favor of any sort or they don't but I like your more nuanced approach where it's OK to do it if it was something that made you or a member of your family happy but not OK to do it if it didn't."
Congratulations on turning something that was supposed to be nice thread into disagreement on stagedooring. I am not going to continue to argue with you about it on this thread. I think I said all I wanted to about stagedooring in the thread I created.
