I watched all the Broadway pieces. I was surprised that Brooke looked so good and loved Jennifer Gambatese who is one heck of a performer. What did anyone think of the others? Some of them were not wonderful!
I thought All Shook Up was wonderful.
Good V. was very nice
and Brooklyn was outstanding (that's what I felt.. don't start with the bash posts)
I could tell Wonderful town was lip sinking and it botherd me
Okay... someone please tell me that Cheyenne Jackson is not permanently blonde. Please? Really, though, he fits that part so, so well. I'm so excited for him. Not the show, per se, but for him.
Good Vibrations made me want to smash my head into a wall, but I think that's more due to my predispositions than to the actual performance. It wasn't bad.
Bombay Dreams was no surprise... it was... Bombay Dreams - I just feel like it was kind of weird to see Tamyra Gray in the role. Oh, well.
I quickly caught Hunter Foster's performance on CBS - wonderful, as always...
What else? Oh, it was lovely to see Raul, if only for a few seconds.

Jennifer Gambatese was great and I'm even more excited for All Shook Up now
i liked everything i saw
I've totally accepted that they were all lipsynching....after all, Im sure any sound system used while moving or on location would be weird and/or horrible.
Brooklyn - I really liked that they kept this simple and focused on Eden, who has a killer voice.
Good Vibrations - Wasn't really impressed.
All Shook Up - caught about half of it, but liked it a lot.
Raul on the Chitty float - MAD exciting!
Fiddler on the Roof - was okay:)
John Tartaglia and Rod being interviewed - awesome!

Well, regarding the balloons, I was disappointed in the way they are handled now. Ever since the "accident", I guess all the rules have changed. They were barely off the ground! I mean, SpongeBob was dragging his feet at one point!
I liked it better when the balloons were WAYYYYY up in the air.
Jennifer Gambatese was great.
Brooke Shields is not Donna Murphy.

I saw lipsingcing. That is so ennoying because that isn;t what Broadway should be about.

I agree with Flowery Friend that Brooke Shields is not Donna Murphy. I was a little disappointed, but I think I might have liked it if I hadn't already seen it with Donna Murphy.
Trying to imagine being a tourist, I couldn't understand what Brooke Shields was doing. With Donna Murphy you could tell what she was trying to say.

um ... every show does it every year on NBC, because of the TV station and rules and such, not because of the shows...
All Shook Up/Jenn Gambatese... um... loved it!
Wonderful town.. I don't really like that number in the show but I saw Brooke in the show 2 weeks ago and I thought she is Fantastic in it!
Bombay Dreams.. not a fan
Good Vibrations.. reminded me of my high school talent shows. :-/

I just have to say that I love that song from Bombay Dreams, Shakalakah Baby. I've never seen the show, but that song is really addicting.
i LOVE cheyenne, but he needs to cut back on the time spent in that tanning bed now that he has blonde hair.
my mom thought he was a bit scary looking. im sad to say i can see how someone with zero knowledge of who he is would think that.
maybe he just...got back from a trip to florida...or something...
They're all gonna lip sync. It's outdoors with unforeseen conditions and God knows what else! The lip syncing never bothered me.
I was there the year they had a temperature inversion. The theory is that they will fill the balloons about 4/5s full and let the heat from the sun expand the gas. The year I went, the temperature went DOWN from the morning and all the gas contracted. Snoopy actually *was* dragging on the ground and almost fell on us. All in all, I'd rather watch the parade on TV.
I saw Raul and the Brooklyn performances... they were both pretty good.
And I don't mind lip-synching as long as it isn't so obvious... which it was... so it was annoying, but they still sounded great
Wasn't too impressed with any of the performances... the only one that really got me the least bit excited was hearing the song from Brooklyn... I know the reviews are mixed, but I might have to just see it if only for her voice! As for all the others, they weren't bad, but nothing that got me really excited. Oh well, maybe next year...

I seriously hope that nobody is basing their sole opinions on these new shows on these parade performances alone.
I thought Brooke Sheilds looked very awkward and stiff. I am not all that familiar with the show, so maybe that is intentional? I don't know.
Once I got over the shock of Cheyenne as a blonde, I thought he did a good job and looked comfortable, even with the hair flapping in his face. I guess he has to be blonde for the role, but I think he is far better looking (and less distracting) in his natural brunette state. It seems like he is going to do justice to that role. And I was too focused on Cheyenne and Jenn to notice the ASU ensemble much.
Bombay Dreams was okay. Nothing really stood out as outstanding, but I think Tamyra Gray has a nice voice.
And I thought the Good Vibrations ensemble made it look like a fun and upbeat kind of show to see. I look forward to that one!

That stiffness that you saw with Brooke Shields is somewhat related to her character in the number. But overall her performance wasn't that great.
And I have seen the show a couple of times. But not yet with Brooke Shields, so I cannot say whether she is bad throughout the whole show or not.
