Am I on something or did anyone else not...feel anything from the concert? Norm Lewis, Samantha Barks and Matt Lucas were standouts, but Nick Jonas and Lea Salonga just kinda seemed like lost little puppies...

With the exception of some very die-hard Jonas fans, most people feel that Nick Jonas was the weak link in this production. As for the rest of the cast and the production itself -- I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was at the concert (both performances) and I was in tears during Bring Him Home and the show finale as well. I was extremely happy that Alfie Boe did so well -- he really won those crowds over.

I wasn't underwhelmed at all. In general I liked the cast in this concert more than the previous televised concert. Nick Jonas was the weak link. He wasn't terrible, but wasn't that good either.
The staging was a bit awkward, but less so than the previous concert. When you get performers used to doing the show in a fully staged production, they all seem a little bit lost just going up to a mic and standing there. For me, this was a fine concert version of Les Mis.

no i don't really use tumblr
Nick Jonas was a disaster, no way around it. Fortunately, the rest of the cast made up for it.
Salonga looked and sounded great, but seemed far too regal a presence for Fantine. I never once believed she was a desperate, dying woman.
