In a time of turmoil and dreck on Broadway, what new composers provide the most hope for the future of Musical Theatre?
Shaiman and Wittman. I love them so!
This could very easily be a nesting ground for SHILLS!

I forgot to post my list. It's as follows:
Jason Robert Brown
Andrew Lippa
Scott Alan
Brian Lowdermilk
Adam Guettel (A stretch because Broadway isn't quite ready for him yet. Perhaps "Light in The Piazza" will change that.)

I also am very fond of William Finn's music. But I'm not sure if his shows are "accessible" enough to the theatre-going public.

I think they've both been said, but I want to exert my opinion...
Above all, Jason Robert Brown...but also LaChiusa, Lippa, Shaiman/Wittman, and Adam Guettel.

Jeanine Tesori is one of the most talented composers out there.

I agree with Jeanine Tesori. Her ability to seamlessly move through different music styles makes her a true standout.

"Shaiman and Wittman. I love them so!"
If that happens, Broadway is in big trouble.
Tesori, definately. She has talent, and not only is her music soulful and meaningful, it's very catchy.
I really believe that Jonathan Larson would have been the next Sondheim.
Tesori. She keeps her music fresh, interesting and challenging. I like Wildhorn, but, in my opinion, he still has yet to hone his craft a bit. Am interested in hearing his music for Dracula.
Jason Robert Brown.
