Sprecher/et al are the producers with the rights to Exorcist with Brooke Shields that just premiered in LA, the tour of Little House on the Prarie musical a few years ago and the upcoming Frank Wildhorn musical Havana.
Havana was supposed to premiere a few years ago (if not decades ago by different producers) but the theatre in Pasadena where it was to premiere went bankrupt.
Rebecca seems like their only B'way ambition for now.

to answer the above question-Equity Actors can audition at anytime for anything, regardless of what their contract says. The only thing that holds them to the contract is the "out" which stipulates the amount of notice that they need to give before leaving the production.
