Anybody have any information on this? I saw John Tartaglia is supposed to be there, and there's an afterparty at Duvet, but I have no idea what it's all about.. If anyone could help me out it'd be much appreciated The 1st Annual Broadway Purim Shpiel

Anyone else going? What's the deal with the aftershow party?

I'm going! Not sure what the deal is with the after party, but it should be fun. QtKt-How did you manage to get row A seats?? Telecharge kept on coming up with "none available" when I tried to book, so I went to the box office last Sunday and there were only 3 seats left. I bought the 2 that were together, but they are all the way last row to the side. It's a small theatre so it should be fine, but I was thinking, how did QtKt get row A? I'm happy for you though :)

When I went on telecharge last saturday I just requested 2 tickets and row A were the first available... It was so strange, threw me off completely, wasn't expecting such good seats!
But it's definately going to be a fun time, my best friend is planning on ditching me before the afterparty because shes not interested (*sigh*) but i'm excited for all of it!
We go to a lot of the same events... maybe i'll see ya there!
Have fun!!! re: The 1st Annual Broadway Purim Shpiel

Purim was incredible! What a great show! My best friend Rai and I were in front row, center, which was amazing...
We were running a little late, so when we got there, Kristy Cates was singing.
Then, Judy Gold performed, she's a comedian and she is just HYSTERICAL! She worked with Seth on The Rosie O'Donnell Show.
Mary Bond Davis~ absolutely incredible, she sang "My Handyman", woman didn't even need a microphone, what an incredible voice, she was fantastic!
Lets see, who else was there... John Tracey Egan, Joey Mazzarino, Ana Gasteyer... "The Mentalist", Ehud Segev bent a spoon with my friends name on it with his mind, i'm telling you, i was in the front row, and i can't see any other way that he could have done it, he was incredible!
Saycon was there, and she sang "The Wizard and I", and was fantastic, as always. That girl is going places, she has such a ridiculous voice!
And now to Johnny... he sang "Taylor the Latte Boy" (which I LOVE), and he looked great, he was all red from being in LA, he looked awesome. (If you can't tell i'm a huge Tartaglia fan!)
So at the very end, Kerry Butler and John sang "Suddenly Seymour". It was just incredible. Absolutely fantastic. John told me afterwards that it was really emotional for him and Kerry because they have been friends for 15 years and that was the first time they've sang together onstage. He was touching her hair, and they just really got into it, it was an incredible performance, they were amazing together.
So, all in all, it was a great show, i'm so thrilled I got to go!
Sorry for the short, random review...! I'm just exhausted...

As QtKt said, this was fun. My friend and I were sitting all the way in the back, but its a tiny theatre so it didn't matter. We were like the only ones in the entire theatre who did not know the producer, Scott Kluge. Everyone else were friends and relatives of his. Johnny T's parts were my faves, he is the whole reason I went to the show! I am so glad he performed twice. His rendition of Taylor the Latte Boy gets me everytime. Seth Rudetsky as host was really funny! It was cool how it wasn't just singing, but also stand up comedy, magic tricks, even a little puppet show!
QtKt-Kristy Cates wasn't there, Saycon went on instead of her. I'm trying to guess who you came in during...What did she look like? Did you go to the afterparty? I went but we only stayed for about half an hour. It was fun, but we felt a little out of place because everyone knew everyone else.
We do go to a lot of the same shows, we should definately meet at one of these thing. You'll be at Barrett's show tonight, right?

I'm glad everyone had a good time and I'm soooooo MAD that I didn't go!!!!

I LOVE JT's rendition of Latte Boy and I've wanted to hear Saycon for a long time.

Next time there's something like this, force me to go!

Oops, you're right Miss NY! It wasn't Kristy Cates... It was Kerry Butler, no? The one right before Judy Gold.... I felt a mess walking all the way to the front right during her song...!
Yeah, i'll be at Barretts show tonight!
I think I saw you last night, talking to Johnny, he said bye to me before he walked away with Seth... was that you? I was the one in the grey p-coat, check out my fan photos on BWW, maybe you'll recognize me..?
We do go to a lot of the same stuff, i'll see ya tonight! If you see me, definately come say hi!! re: The 1st Annual Broadway Purim Shpiel

Mirramar-i tried to force you remember.... lol. next time i'll work harder

QtKt-i think it was Kerry Butler, she was singing "Gee Wiz"? She was the second perfromer. Sarah Clamer (sp?) from Mamma Mia was first singing The Life of the Party. She was really good. She was the only performer who was at the after party besides for The Mentalizer. His part was cool, but i think it went on a little too long

I saw the Mentalizer's show last week. He's a nice guy and donates all the money from his show to charity, definitely check it out.
