Best Broadway Return: the return of an actor to Broadway after a long absence.
Just a reminder: this is only applicable to shows that opened in the 2006 calendar year. A show like Sweeney Todd is only eligible in the Best/Worst Replacement category (Judy Kaye).

Posted: 12/19/06 at 10:01pmI would think breakthrough would be someone who's been on broadway before but not really ever recognized for being fantastic until they did this role...did that make sense?

Gumbo - Yes.
Hook - Breakthrough, as gumbo pretty much summed up, is someone who is getting the recognition they've deserved for a long time.
