Wonderful review Em!

re: The 24 Hour Plays, and the return of 'The Adam'

I was gonna post something, but knew Em would do a much better thorough job and remember more, great job. A couple tidbits I can add though:

Someone asked about this specifically on another thread...during the 4th play, at one stop the dialogue stops...two people say something at the same time and you think oh, one of them two must have forgotten a line. Then, out of nowhere, David Lindsay-Abaire from his seat in the middle of the orchestra(thanks for the correction Peeps!) shouts out "he cannot come in the house." Cady Huffman, who was not of the two, then proceeded to say "he cannot come in the house." Heh, again understandable in a day, but the audience howled and then cheered.

Hayden was the special celebrity guest, soo exciting! His hair was a tad different than in the SW films but as soon as he started getting mad at Tracie and his dad, he got the Darth Vader look and I squealed. Also, I guess it wasn't crystal clear, but I guess just b/c I couldn't think of who else she could be, I assumed the ghost was his wife who must have died years ago. She seems to want him to move on and let go of her, saying she has to go, etc. I dunno guess it could have been more implicit, but that's at least how I took it.

Heh, twas great to see Adam up there. He seemed to be having lots of fun, and I loved the bear dance and the bunny mask. Also thought Charlotte did a pretty good job w/ her slightly overdramatic, defending-parents character.

In the 4th show, Rachel Dratch definitely had a scene-stealing role, she was pretty funny. Props to Elizabeth for being wet the whole time. And I think I followed the whole relationship/cheating thingamajegger...Rachel was married to Cheyenne who was having an affair(would you call it that?) w/ Cady who was married to Andrew. Cheyenne seemed to be having lots of fun in this one.

And totally agreed on the 5th play and Anthony and Rosie, she was hysterical..."umm...April F*ckin Fools." Hahaha.

Guess that's all I have to add. Great night, took quite a few pics in lobby and talked/met some of the ppl, very very exciting.

great review!
"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell plus i proudly share the title of the shortest member over the age of 10 with wickedrentq!

One small correction, that wasn't a loudspeaker, that was David Lindsay-Abaire shouting the correct line from his seat in the middle of the orchestra.

Ah, the magic of The 24 Hour Plays.

Thanks for the reviews and the support, guys, it was nice meeting someof you, however briefly.

Everyone please come check out our off-Broadway shows (http://www.24hourplays.com)--only $15 for most shows and the readings are free. It's our 10th anniversary season, at the end of which we are going to remount 24 of the best of the past 10 years.

Yes thank you!

Oh okay, didn't realize, I just knew it was someone saying something really loud and wasn't coming from any of the actors on stage. Will make correction.

Great accounts guys! I don't think there's anything left to add that I can think of that hasn't been mentioned.

That's great that that was the David Linsday-Abaire who yelled! I thought it was some sort of stage manager or someone like that.

Hayden and Adam

*Swoon*
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

re: The 24 Hour Plays, and the return of 'The Adam'

That's so funny! I've totally turned one of my friends into an Adam fan, and she's been sending me pictures of Hayden, because he's her favourite actor. She'll LOVE this picture!

There's a similar version on a Hayden fansite. The people who see it are probably going to be like "who's that dude?"

Hey em,

Thanks for the review. I loved it... I didn't know Hayden Christensen was a part of this either! I used to be the CEO of his fan club in middle school, haha. Anyway, it seems like it was an interesting night & I enjoyed your review.

I'm glad it all worked out for you re: The 24 Hour Plays, and the return of 'The Adam'
