It's great to see the actors changing characters, accents, time periods - very impressive. I also thought the costume design was beautiful, especially that elaborate dress. Definitely a thought-provoking show that's great to look at.

This is not April Fool's Day
This show is the worst show I have ever seen in over 40 years of attending theater. Read my earlier post on this. A vanity project for a few people who thought they could write a play. The costumes were laughable. The elaborate dress looked like the backside of sofa thrown in a garbage dump.

This piece is so gorgeous. It's thought-provoking, visually stunning, and it does a wonderful job including different perspectives often lost to the pages of history. The number of stories and the intersections between them come together to give agency and beauty to a number of lives and voices that have had their own unique trials and tribulations in NYC in recent history.

No disrespect intended but What Are You Smoking"?
Most of the audience was sleeping. The chatter after it was over was hilarious. The one that stuck in my mind was "verbal diahreah".
I would rather walk on broken glass while having my fingernails pulled out and having root canal without being put out than see one minute of this show again..

"Read my earlier post on this"
Did we see the same play? I did read your earlier post on this and I thought it was grossly inaccurate. I saw the play last night and thought they did a wonderful job. I enjoyed the individual stories interwoven with facts about City Center's history.
I have been seeing theater my entire life and this is HARDLY the worst show. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I guarantee you're in the minority here. Most people would enjoy this show and I only heard nice things from the audience last night.
Bravo to the playwrights for putting this enjoyable piece together.

What an amazing coincidence for "InclusiveStagesNYC" and "dbnyctheater" to both join BroadwayWorld on the same day ["3/7/14"] to post for their first and only time ever, within an hour of each other, the same glowing message about the same brilliant show! These two theatergoers really should meet!
And then for "WickedJavaPoodle" — with under 25 posts ["Swing"] over 10 years ["9/19/04"] — to coincidentally rise from the dead within on hour of the others with a need to praise the exact same show! It almost makes you believe in miracles!
Have to admit shilling this clumsy is kind of endearing.
(Well, except for the thinking we're all idiots part.)
Better luck next time, kids.

This has potential to be one of the better threads of today, if we all try really hard.

Oh, I don't know...I think we only need to gently nudge it in the right direction.
