Hey all! Has anyone tried the rush for The Audience yet? I want to try and see the show this Saturday. I asked at the box office last week and was told the tickets were based on availability and are not always sold. Has anyone had success getting rush tickets? And if so what time did you line up and was it a weekday or weekend? Thanks in advance!

Hey, Emily! While I haven't rushed myself, there are some other posters who have. From the sounds of what they have to say, it shouldn't be too difficult. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

I rushed yesterday morning and got two great seats in orch row C. We got there around 8:15am and were first in line...it looked like there were maybe 20-odd people by 10am. The seats were partial view but I don't think we missed too much aside from a couple quick changes.

Were you sitting far right or far left of Row C?

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." atuomala, I was far right orch row C. 95% of the action is down center stage so I didn't miss anything important as far as I could tell!

This is a little off topic...but I am asking anyone who has seen the show - does the Playbill list which of the girls plays young Elizabeth on which days of the week? Or does it just have an insert in the Playbil?

^I was curious as well, so I looked on PlaybillVault, and it looks like they do NOT list the schedule. They just say that each girl is an alternate. It's a shame they don't list it, since I'd love to see Sadie Sink in the role. Saw her as Annie a couple years ago and loved her performance.

It's just an insert in the playbill. The both times I went, Sadie Sink played Young Elizabeth, and I believe that the two young actresses alternated during the opening night performance so they could both perform that night.

I spoke to her father and he said the girls are alternating performances...and I was told Sadie was going to be on Tues and Sun last week. But since they are only doing 7 performances a week instead of 8 (I think), the alternate schedule won't come out the same each week - which is why I was hoping for something more concrete.

Only Sadie was on for opening night..but both girls came out for bows, as is customary with alternates (opening night of Matilda for example - only one was on, but all four came out to bow).

Yesterday my friend went and did the rush for both of us. She got there somewhere around 8:30, and was 2nd in line. There were only 6 rush tickets sold, and we had to buy single seats.

I was sitting in the 3rd row orchestra, far house right. I found it be a perfectly ok seat. My only issue was that I couldn't see the set very well. I also couldn't see any of the actors if they were far upstage. My friend was sitting in the 2nd house left box, in the back. She said the seat was kind of bad, because the other people in the box with her made it difficult to see large portions of the stage, but most of the action was in her line of vision.

For those wondering, Elizabeth Teeter played Young Elizabeth, and did a great job. That fits in with what KathyNYC said about the girls alternating performances. I'm guessing Sadie Sink will be on tonight, Elizabeth Teeter for the Saturday matinee, and so on and so forth.
