I was listening to LITP -- REALLY listening to it (as opposed to having it in the background as I mostly have), and I'm not clear on something. Since I know what the "twist" is, it seems like this is revealed right in the lyrics of "The Beauty Is":
"I think if I had a child, I would take such care of her.
Then I wouldn’t feel like one.
I’ve hardly met a single soul, but I am not alone.
I feel grown..."
Isn't this a give away, more or less? Maybe it's that when you're in the theater, you can't pay as close attention, or maybe not knowing makes this not as revealing, but the almost child-like way she sings this seems like a dead give-away...
Hi, Shirley Temple Pudding.
