My Family is considering the Belvedere Hotel at a rate of 200/night. Any experience with the hotel, how far away is it from times square/theaters? whoch theaters is it near?
any advice would be great, thanks

Posted: 8/1/06 at 4:38pmThe Belvedere is a mid-range hotel between 8th and 9th on 48th so close to the theatre district. It's rooms are VERY tiny but decent. The staff is known for being pretty bad, though, so don't expect much. You can't get much for $200/night in Manhattan.

Posted: 8/1/06 at 10:53pmI stayed there for a few days last year and I thought it was fine. Plus, the location is pretty great (very close to Times Square and several theaters).

I stayed at The Belvedere last November and loved it. Very convenient to Broadway (1.5 blocks away). The Belvedere is located on 48th Street between 8th and 9th (closer to 8th).
The rooms are very clean and although they are not huge, they are bigger than any other hotel rooms I have stayed at in this price range in NYC. I have no complaints about the staff. They were very friendly and accomodating.
I would definetly stay at the Belvedere again.

I had a very particular friend stay at the Belvedere and love it!
Try Priceline-they have many hotels that are screened and affordable. I've never had a bad experience.

I was there in the spring and the staff was wonderful, the rooms were clean, and the location was perfect. Quiet, too. No problems with noise in the wee hours.
The doorman was very helpful, cabs a-plenty--and a nice little Korean market on the corner.
I would not hesitate to stay there again.
