Okay, this is kinda random but it's been annoying me forever. I cannot stand the cheesy Broadway.com Picture Op captions.
I've been looking through a few pictures and the captions are literally making me cringe. Anyone have any favorites/agree? This thread will probably go nowhere but I had to share...

Was this picture taken mid-show, Laura's not wearing her opening or ending costume. Or is it from intermission?

Posted: 5/19/08 at 6:50pmMyley Montana and co. were brought backstage during the intermission in order for them to avoid the hoards of people who would no doubt swarm them. Same thing happened when they were at Mamma Mia!

Aw, I remember when I used to go to Broadway.com. Thank you for reminding me why I don't anymore. :3

Posted: 5/19/08 at 7:23pmnot so much to do with captions, but has anyone else noticed that the little mermaid seems to be the only show that does their photo ops out of costume? I mean hell if i'm backstage for a photoop i would want it to be with a bunch of half dressed mermaids

This one made me cringe and laugh at the same time if that's possible...

Posted: 5/22/08 at 5:21pmI will tell you this for sure; the photographer of those pictures has nothing to do with the captions.

The quality of the pictures pisses me off more than the captions. Sometimes there are good quality pictures, but more often than not they're extremely fuzzy.
I miss the old Broadway.com, where it was actually an interesting website.

Posted: 5/22/08 at 6:05pmThe captions crack me up. But not the way they should.

Posted: 5/22/08 at 6:28pmThis just reminds me why I stopped going to broadway.com at the same time that Ken Mandelbaum ended his column. There's nothing worthwhile over there anymore.

Posted: 5/22/08 at 7:01pmThe quality of the pictures are fine. It's not like they're any better here. I've seen a fair share of fuzzy/blurry pictures here, too.

I wouldn't call those good quality.
I just kind of hate that site in general.

Posted: 5/22/08 at 8:43pmThe whole album was bad quality. But whatever, it's a stupid thing to argue about and I'm not going to waste my energy. Point is, Broadway.com used to be a great resource for pictures and videos and information, and now it's just boring and not as reliable. The day they got rid of real reviews and Ken Mandelbaum's column was when it went downhill.

Jordangirl, I'm a 16 year old girl that lives in the suburbs of Boston. Sorry, I'm not. haha
I agree it's stupid to fight over, I just thought it was an unfair argument, that's all. And there are still some great things about broadway.com, as well as great things on here. I just feel like people shouldn't feel apt to have to choose one or the other. But I agree. It is pointless.

Posted: 5/22/08 at 9:55pmThe captions are too cheesey for me. That, and some of the pictures really scare me - on a good amount of the pictures, they use the flash really close to the person (this happens a lot with older people, I seem to recall), making them look like skeletons.
