So I was reading this book I have on Broadway musicals and was wondering what happened to The Capeman. Did anyone see this musical or have any pictures of it? Did they ever record a Cast album? In the book I have it says that "many fans hope Dreamworks will sometime release the cast album..." Thanks.

There is a concept album.

A cast album was recorded and never released. It was distributed privately to Tony voters only.

A concept album, "Songs from 'The Capeman'," is available. With the exception of one or two songs, the bulk of the material is sung my Paul Simon. It's worth buying.

I saw the show three times on Broadway. A brilliant, underrated piece of theatre.

Have a look at what Ethan Mordden says about it in THE HAPPIEST CORPSE I'VE EVER SEEN: The Last 25 Years of The Broadway Musical.

I saw it about 5 times. Absolutly loved it. It showed so much heart. It also had the most beutiful sets. Just the opening scrim was gorgeous. Alot of talent. Wonderful show overll.

I am so sorry it was so frowned upon. It deserved more of a chance!

I saw it. The show really didn't gain momentum. Once the murders were done, the show didn't go anywhere. The second act was tedious and uninteresting. Simon meant it as a story about redemption, but Les Miz did that subject so much better. I think it would have done better in a smaller venue off-Broadway.

There was an original cast album recorded. I think with Marc Anthony's popularity they should release it.
