re: Your most memorable moment of a show

Mar 29, 2005 — 1:20:40 PM

OK, I have a few: Frances Ruffell as Eponine when I was 9 singing "ON MY OWN" in Les Miserables. The Opening number of "THE LIFE" "DEFYING GRAVITY" in WICKED Final of "PARADE" All of "BLOOD BROTHERS" with Stephanie Lawrence Kelli O'Hara's Act 2 entrance in "DRACULA" THE LION KING - "CIRCLE OF LIFE" I am sure there are many more!

Can we just talk about Leslie Kritzer??? How fantastic of a performer? I would pay big bucks to see her Tracy Turnblad. Her performance on the "Urinetown" tour was hysterical. Fanny Brice was brilliant. She is on the move! Go Leslie!!

I saw it about 5 times. Absolutly loved it. It showed so much heart. It also had the most beutiful sets. Just the opening scrim was gorgeous. Alot of talent. Wonderful show overll. I am so sorry it was so frowned upon. It deserved more of a chance!

How about the entire courtroom scene. The music goes from one extreme to the other. Truly brilliant!

re: Standbys/Understudies Question

A swing is someone who covers (understudies) an ensemble member. Wether they are out sick or on for a lead role. The "swing" will step into the ensemble peron's roles. Hope this helps!

For me I would say: Lot's Wife - Caroline or Change Defying Gravity - Wicked On My Own - Les Miserables (1st time I saw it) Side Show (the whole musical)

re: Kristy Cates probaly being moved up to standby

Dec 22, 2004 — 3:43:33 PM

I have to say, in my own opinion, Kristy Cates has what is takes to be Elphaba. When I saw her (live), she was beyond fantastic. So different from anyone I have seen do the role. Totally different vocal styling, more legit. Her diction was fantastic and her facial expressions fantastic. I wish her only the best, she has a very bright future. Just think she replaced Stephanie Block when Wicked came to Broadway. Ya never know where this girl will be going.!
