Damn it, Britt! I thought I saw you again, but I wasn't sure if it was you!!! I honestly do mean it when I say, next time.
Well...here's my thoughts on tonights Chatterbox.
The ever oh-so-adorable Euan walked on to the itty bitty stage, and I swear, there was a defening silence of understood "awwwww" from the audience. He's just so damn cute. Before I get into all of this, the one thing I really want to stress, is that I had a wonderful time tonight. I enjoy seeing Euan, and am really looking forward to seeing him in Caligula next week! Here goes...
Okay, so he walks out on stage with a Coke, and makes a joke about not having any alcohol. *roars of laughter* Anyways, as the conversation bit went on, it seemed like they talked A LOT. Please beleive me when I honestly say I really appreciate Euan's talent. He is so easy to listen to! He could probably insult every member of your family PLUS your dog and still you wouldn't care-It has to be the charming accent. I did however, notice some things that really annoyed me about him. Okay, from the very beginning, it seemed like he was bitching and looking for sympathy from the audience. He said he just ran into Raul at the *gasp* Rent auditions. He said he wanted to read for Mark, but they said they already had enough Marks and instead had him read for Angel. Well duh, he has that sweet appeal to him, and his voice would do well with the songs. However, because his heart apparently just wasn't in it, he didn't do a good audition. Then, looking for sympathy from the audience, he says "Raul got to read for Mark." and then does this pouty face and holds the mic out to the audience for everyone to "awww". Yes, poor-pitiful Euan. He also proceeds to tell everyone that he is really greatful to his fans, but sometimes just has a bad night and that sometimes he just wants to get home. Understood. THEN, he later proceeds to complain about his ****-hole of an apartment he is subletting that is infested with roaches and how he hates going home. But then, he complains about how he doesn't want to go back to London because actors aren't paid as well, blah blah blah. I'm not exagerating here. He was constantly bitching, and yes, it was funny, but I kinda got to the point where I was like-"who do you think you are?" I know in this business you have to have a very high opinion of yourself, but gosh, the man does more nagging than my mother. I do have to say, the highlight of the night was when he told the story about accidentaly slinging a potato on a lady's "tit" ( I apologize now in case the word "tit" is a big no-no. His word, not mine)accedintaly and then later ended up spitting in her tea (it could have been coffee, my memory is a bit spacy right now)when she called him a name. I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure the moral of his story was to be nice to the wait staff, because they will do horrible things to your food! Anywho, he ended up only singing one song. I guess that's why they talked so much longer. The song..."The Impossible Dream" from La Mancha. I was shocked he chose that song. He nailed it though, it was all very intense-especially when he was looking me right in the eye. Really quite beautiful. Nanny Morton should be proud.
All in all, the guys hysterical. He is however a smart ass with a large vocabulary of curse words. His favorite seems to be the "f" word though and I'm not talking about flying or flute.
I'm sure I'll have more to add on tomorrow, along with my Last Easter review.
