I've been obsessing- someone recently posted that Cynthia Nixon signed on to star in a Broadway musical revival next year. What could it be??????? South Pacific, Irene, Pal Joey???? Heidi Chronicles, the musical??? Updated On: 4/25/07 at 04:01 PM
She is not a good singer. So I assume it will be something with a very limited vocal range.

She can be Desiree!
Woman Of The Year? Applause? A Little Night Music?
sorrygrateful- we thought of desiree at the exact same time
I probably should have added the tag - if this were true. Where is this story coming from again?

Why is there a separate thread for this when the original was posted only a few days ago?
Coco?
I would never have really thought of her to star in any musical, but if she can bring about the revival of "A Little Night Music", then I say let her 'Send in the Clowns' as Desiree. She's a good age to play the part too.
Roundabout "Little Night Music?" Maybe not with Sunday coming. Redhead? Wildcat? Mrs. Barnum? They're Playing Our Song? Pal Joey? Irene?
It'd be fun to see a revival of WOMAN OF THE YEAR if only to see two great actresses go at it during "The Grass Is Always Greener," I doubt anyone would be interested in bringing the show back to Broadway, let alone with Cynthia Nixon in the title role.
I'm not really sure I'd buy her as Desiree but it's a more interesting than Patti LuPone, Victoria Clark, et al (as talented as they are).
It can't be Mame. (Though Christine Baranski sang it. Ugh, don't mention her I'm Still Here ever again.) I was reading through that score today and God they should bring it back. It's a masterpiece.
Back on topic,
I think she might be too young for Night Music. At least for Desiree. How old is she anyway? All of the other parts require good singers. Redhead would never be brought back unless Gwen Verdon came back from the dead. Ditto for Wildcat. Barnum, please no. Pal Joey requires a good voice for Vera. I'll go with Night Music.

EVITA ?????
DEAR WORLD? could be a SATC reunion... nixon, cattrall, davis and SJP
they should do the first wives club musical
How would the "Dear World" revival work? There's three madwomen and I don't think any of those ladies is young enough to pull off Nina...
OH MY, GOD!! I GOT IT!! CYNTHIA NIXON IS GOING TO PLAY THE DEAF MUTE!!!
