ABC is airing a two-hour musical special celebrating the 60th anniversary of Disneyland, fittingly titled "Disneyland 60," at 8pm EST. It's chock full of appearances from stars ranging from P!nk to Helen Mirren to Lupita Nyong'o to Josh Gad to Elton John to Zendaya. Plus more.
Of course there will be crazy musical performances, including Ne-Yo's "Friend Like Me" and Pentatonix singing "Be Our Guest." But I think I'm most excited for Dick van Dyke's return to "Step in Time" alongside emcee Derek Hough! I think it could be fun for us to share our opinions here.
Apparently they will debut the Pete's Dragon trailer too.

Several of the performances were pre-taped, just in case anyone is wondering, but it should be fun.

This looks more like a promotion show featuring the most popular yet not necessarily great performers (besides Sir Elton John, Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford, Dick Van Dyke and a few others) than an actual quality Disneyland Anniversary celebration but I'll tune in to see how it is I suppose!
I have no interest in PETE"S DRAGON. They're going to ruin it. The original was perfection, especially the score and songs. No way they can do it better. This and THE JUNGLE BOOK, I fear, will be money-making disappointments. Why not just re-release the originals to the big screen and put in the advertising money there? In a way, Disney is sort of saying "we can do it better, this time" as if the originals are not good enough and do not stand the test of time.

Fingers crossed they show a snippet of Emma Watson as Belle.
