The Drowsy Chaperone Film

I was wondering recently about the film adaptation of The Drowsy Chaperone, I didn't remember hearing anything since Hugh Jackman was allegedly interested in the role of Aldolpho (which I personally can't picture, since he is the farthest from a Latin lothario I can imagine). I googled it and found that Anne Hathaway and Barbra Streisand were also (allegedly) interested in appearing, I assume as Janet van de Graaf and the titular Chaperone. Does anyone know anything about the film? It's probably in that stage that Into the Woods was in for a year and a half where we won't hear anything and doubt that it's going to happen for a while. I feel like they would have to rethink the whole concept, with the Man in Chair being obsessed with Hollywood movie musicals from the 30's or something of the sort. What do you all think?

As drama said, it's a cute show, but it won't be able to find the film audience it'll need to make money. It'd be a fun live broadcast though.

I hope it happens and the show did re-coup.
