very long time lurker, first post.
My father was a huge fan of the original run of The Fantasticks when he was growing up. He estimates that he saw the show between 75-100 times. He keeps telling me that I need to see the show.
Now that the show has been revived I might finally have my chance. I will be going down to NYC (from Albany) in March and hope to get tickets. Are tickets readily available at a good price?
Also, my father speaks so highly of the show. What do members who saw the original run of the show years ago think of the current production.
Thanks for your help and I hope to see some of you at the Fantasticks!

Student rush tickets are about $30, day of.
I saw it last month and enjoyed it.

I know bumping your own thread is frowned upon. However, I can't believe only one person has something to say about The Fantasticks.
Thanks for all your insight!

MGOLDM4,
Could you send me a private message? If your father's really seen the show a hundred times, I'd be honored to invite him to our upcoming 50th Anniversary Year Celebration.
Thanks.

Posted: 2/19/09 at 10:39pmI haven't seen it recently but I have seen the revival and I thought it was delightful. I almost went back last week but I wasn't able to get into town in time. Maybe on my next visit!
A click for life.

Posted: 2/20/09 at 9:27amI can't say enough wonderful things about this production. I did not see the original production, but I saw the show in the early 1980s and I loved it. Then I just started my new habit of seeing it every weekend (!) and it just gets better and better each time. I loved it in the 1980s when I was a little girl, and I love it now when I'm a grown woman. I took my mother to see it for her birthday and then she took me to see it for my birthday. Please take your father to see this production...you and he will not regret it one bit!
