Couldn't find another thread on this, not that it matters much as its only running through this weekend, but if you are considering grabbing a ticket I highly advise you to stay far away, this is a phenominal misfire and yet another strong argument for why it is time for Scott Elliott to step down as the AD of The New Group
Painfully bad, if you can't get Wallace to do this piece then their is little point in doing it, bless Lily Taylor but it felt like someone doing a pally imitation of Wally for 90 unending minutes
I will second this. Even if you have tickets (which I doubt anyone paid anything for), you should give them away to someone you hate. This was torture.

I agree. I enjoyed the ending but it was a painful slog to get there. The beginning was cute too (before the actual performance started).
Unfortunately, Lili seemed to have trouble with the lines, so I ended up paying more attention to the noticeable line flubs than the content of the performance. She had something in her ear, so I wonder if that was to feed her lines or if there was any sort of backing track with beats to hit?

Agreed. The theme is interesting, if a bit facile, and there are one or two exciting parts of the monologue where the theme is sharpened, but most of the text is pretty directionless. There's a lot of the main character relating dreams or unconnected memories, and I think the actor has to really work to get you to care about those parts. Unfortunately, Taylor doesn't do that work; her delivery was pretty flat throughout and didn't find the emotional ups and downs of the piece, which made it harder for me to care about the stories. And yes, I also noticed that she seemed to be stumbling over the lines at least once every 10 minutes or so.
Overall, a miss, I'm sad to say.

Someone informed me she is being fed her lines through a ear piece, I can't believe Audible is recording this with her, why not just have Wallace do it
I had forgotten what it felt like to be so disappointed by a production
