I believe the LSOH TV commercial will begin airing this week. Heard it is very creative. If anyone knows the broadcast schedule or sees it on a certain network, please post.
Desperation.

it starts showing tomorrow. as for desperation, hardly. the show while not a huge hit is doing quite fine and will spawn a road company in june.
im playing seymore right now in my high school's production, is the revival any good? ive read mixed reviews.
Localonecrew, I wasn't referring to the SHOW'S desperation.

nystateofmind04,
Mixed reviews are pretty much what you're going to find from the members of this board, too. I, for one, disliked it; but my good friend Alex thoroughly enjoyed it. To each their own. It really depends on what "type" of production you're looking for. This is pure camp. I prefer the darker original.
Love,
Joshie
Sorry this is off the topic-but I finally saw the LSOH movie! It was cute.

It should be dome total camp or total dark. None of this in between stuff....Just my 2 1/2 cents worth
i guess anything is better than what were doing. i go to a tiny school in southern maryland, (but im going to nyc next year!) no one else here has even heard of it and they are mutilating the music, not to say that i can do it perfectly, but at least i know how it is supposed to sound. i would like to see the revival though, just to see a different take on it, besides the movie

When I first raved about the enthusiastic audience reaction to the show I was accused of being a shill. It did receive 9 or 10 favorable reviews against 3 mixed to negative ones. Now, almost 8 mos. later, the show is still running and trying, as are most shows, to weather a terrible Jan-March period. The commercial should help. I hear the national tour is beginning in the next few months. This production is pure family fun without any political messages or vulgarity. Hope to see it again and again. I just saw the commercial and was highly disappointed. Its completely geared towards exciting kids AND it gives away the surprise ending effect. It practically looks like a Disney on Ice ad. I used to enjoy this show when it was geared as a campy horror spoof, not a jim henson production. I saw it for the second time a couple of weeks ago and was disappointed to see that between the 4 months of my seeing it, Kerry Butler had actually gotten worse in her acting. This whole mess saddens me. A great show is going to go down as a children's production.
There trying to swle it as a family show. I haven't seen the add yet but I know they have been pushing tuesday night Kids go free so sometime now. LSOH isn't really an adult shouw other like it's not the Producers or Boy From Oz or Fiddler. I guess they feel people who are yonger will enjoy it more and even mor knowing it's got puppets and what not. I am a little upset to hear that they gave away the ending they didn't even put it in the program I don't think. Thats kid of dumb.
anyway I have seen the show 5 times and am going again for the 6th time in April. I really enjoy and even more suprizingly so did my mother to the pit where she's going back for a second time. That have only happen with one other show before.
i just saw it while watching fear factor.
yay! :)

It is a great production of a wonderful show! At any performance you can clearly see three generations enjoying it together. Have seen the show a few times and all ages seem to enjoy it- not a kids show at all. By the way, HensonCo. did the puppets!!! Nothing wrong with that at all. Updated On: 3/15/04 at 09:15 PM
Grrr I seem to be watching all the worng stations becasue I haven't seen it yet
What I am wondering is how they are going to do the ending for the national tour. Is it going to be sized down any or what? It's coming to my town next season. Wish us Tennesseans could see Broadway commercials like ya'll. We get fishing gear commercials instead, hehe.
Yay I just saw it and I thought it was cool well not including the woman at the end that was dumb but the rest is cute. I don't see it being made for little kids. I'm happy it's not the cheap looking film they use for other shows where it kind of looks like a home video camera filmed it.
I saw it last night. I think they showed too much of the ending (plant reaching out into audience). So much for the surprise element.
A terrible commercial for a terrible production, and that's my 3 cents.
I saw it now (around 10:55am) during Ellen's show. It was on WNBC - Channel 4.

Just saw the Little Shop commercial and glad to see they showed the true audience reaction. I have seen this production on a few occasions and can attest to the fact that the audience loves the show. In addition to many good reviews, great word of mouth is part of the reason it has run this long without having a TV commercial (Fiddler and Wonderful Town had one immediately).

I just saw the commercial and I'm disappointed. They spend more time showing the plant flying out over the audience than anything else. It doesn't make me want to see the show.
