Posted: 2/13/06 at 12:41amI am listening to the cd right now and though the show is weird I think it its a smart brilliant (in the sense of so out there) score. Why did the show flop was it the weird plot or what?

Posted: 2/13/06 at 12:54amAs my username would indicate I am a huge fan of the show. I really enjoyed the music, and to me Roger Bart was the true highlight. I'm not sure if it was a flop financially. As a LCT production it was a limited engagement from the onset, so I don't think the run length should be considered in deciding if it was a flop or not.

Posted: 2/13/06 at 12:58amI didnt know it was a limited engagment. I think Bart is great but the best number is done by the ensemble. The tittle song to me is pure genius.

Posted: 2/13/06 at 1:07amAs I recall it's advance sales were better than those after the review came out. Lane turned it into a parable on the Bush administration and it was too obvious. Also I think Stroman's direction/choreography was rideculed by Ben Brantley (NYTimes). Anyway, I really liked it, and it's tech was very creative.
