Got this in the mail this morning:
So as some of you may or may not have heard, the was a fire in the Gershwin this morning. Before any of you go crazy saying that is was done by Idina's Pen-Pal or people ticked that certain people are out of the show or bla bla bla. I want you all to know the real story before any of you blow it way out of proportion.
On the fifth floor of the theatre, in the fly space above the audience portion of the theatre, there was a SMALL electrical fire. There is a huge fan up there that had a little trouble this morning. The rubber belt to the fan met up with a little friction and sparked a small fire. The entire theatre began to fill with smoke and the smell of rubber. The fire department came out and fixed everything.
Everything is fine now. The theatre just smells a little wierd. The show is going on today. No worries...we hope.
Heck, just thought id share :)
