I could've sworn I read there were plans to make a cast recording, but I haven't heard anything about it in a while. Does anyone have any information on it?

They recorded it. It's supposed to come out over the summer, I believe. I can't wait.
Oh ok, thank you! I just wanted to make sure it is still being released and isn't ending up like Lestat. Once again, thank you!
I was just asking this last week. I heard Jay recorded it but it's not even advertised as a future release on their website.
Meanwhile, the vocal selections are already available.
I haven't had the fortune of hearing the score yet, but I am very intrigued by the production and its team, so I'd love to hear it.
I hadn't seen any advertising and I didn't know if plans were scrapped.

It's too bad Jay doesn't have the best track record for timely releases. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but a good two years passed between recording Summer of '42 and it finally getting released.

I loved a lot of the music from this show, and really really hope it gets released (soon!).
I was just wondering about this, too. I enjoyed the show and would love to hear the music again! Thanks for the update.
Yeah, Jay takes forever to release product. Let's hope this one has a saner price tag than Dessa Rose.
Dessa Rose had such extravagant packaging. I think this one may be similar.
Don't know for sure though.

Hey everyone,
I actually emailed them about this the other day and received a response really quickly--if only their CDs came out as quickly...
Here's what they said:
It is scheduled for an Autumn release.
Best wishes,
Doug Craib.

Oh man. It was scheduled for summer before. I don't understand HOW it could take so long once it's been recorded. What's the point?
If it is being recorded by Jay, ALWAYS expect a long delay.
Glorious Ones is just one disc, so don't expect a Dessa Rose price.
Any further new on this recording?
there is a bootleg of the music circulating
It's still not up on Jay's site. As stated above, they can be quite slow with these things. I'd imagine Fall seems more likely (as they don't even have a logo for the show up on their site). Shame, it's a gorgeous score (their best since Ragtime, imo) that deserves a bigger life.
Anyone have any news about this???
Just checked Jay's site and there's not even any mention that it exists, not in future releases, or anything.
I've just been wondering beacuase I really want a chance to hear this score. Thanks!
Ditto on this. I've been waiting almost a year since it was recorded. I really hope they don't pull it all together...

Hey, I LOVED "The Glorious Ones."
It was a terrific show.
And a terrific score.
JAY records recorded this show.
They also recorded "Anyone Can Whistle," and "Brigadoon," and "Annie."
None of those recordings have been released.
John Yap, the guy in charge of these things, owns them.
Mr. Yap is not letting them go.
I'm just saying.
The Jay studio cast of BRIGADOON is out on CD (at least it is in stores here in Canada) in the Musical Theatre Hour series.
To be fair to John Yap, he has found the makret for most of these titles very soft. And it is difficult to get stores to carry them. Without that distribution he (or his distributor here in North America, Allego Corp I believe) is stuck with thousands of copies sitting in a warehouse.
Our group of serious collectors who buy every cast album they can get is getting smaller and smaller. At one time it held about 5,000 members worldwide. Now it is less than half that.
You would be surprised the number of show albums that sell less than 1,000 units. That is why many of those obscure flops on Bryan's wish list may never see the light of day on commercial CD's.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
That really sucks.
I adored THE GLORIOUS ONES.
I would love to have a recording.
One of Kudisch's best performances to date.
Aw, I still haven't heard the score yet, but I'm dying to.
Hopefully this will be out in a year or two. From everything I heard it was great!
