The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

So, I've brought up Sheryl Lee Ralph lately in a couple threads and I've noticed a lot of people agree with me that she is an amazing talent. What can I say? I love the woman and I would drink her bath water. So, sit down. Grab a cocktail or cup of coffee and let's talk about "What makes a diva?" Do ya wanna know?

I love her to death! The first few years of Diva's Simply Singing, I was her dresser.

I used to have dreams of putting her lipstick on with a paint roller. Her lips are better than Angelina Jolie!

I saw her in her last night of Thoroughly Modern Millie and she was PHENOMENAL!!! such a star!!!
I hope she returns to Broadway soon...maybe Ursula in Little Mermaid...

I was fortunate enough to see Miss Ralph as "Deena Jones" in "Dreamgirls". What a performance! What a woman! She has the sexiest speaking/singing voice!

I never got to see her in "Millie" but I did follow her career from that point on: "Codename: Foxfire", "It's A Living", "Designing Women", "Moesha".

A beautiful woman with a killer smile!

Marquise, I know you’ve seen it, but I was pleasantly surprised when Sheryl Lee Ralph popped up in one of the Wonder Woman Season 3 DVD episodes I watched the other night (“The Starships Are Coming!”).

re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

Ok i AM DYING! How coincidental...yesterday here in NYC I was going into the Marriot Marquee and whom should I see out front, talking to another actor that I could not remember, was MISS RALPH herself! Well, not being the shy one, I went over to her and told her that I loved her work and LOVE LOVE LOVE Divas Simply Singing....she lit up and said she was just talking about the show, gave me some flyers for it (she's such the marketer!) and gave me a kiss.....

OCTOBER is the next and believe it or not, the 15th annual Divas Concert...

NCGuy..I was just about to post that info. She is on the Season 3 episode "The Straships Are Coming" of "Wonder Woman"! And yes I've watched it numerous times since I got the DVD this month! I think it's the first one I watched! re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

Singingbackup - - - thanks for that post. Isn't she just the most wonderful, beautiful most-down-to-earth performer. She keeps it real! I love it when she breaks into her Jamaican accent for emphasis.

Wonderboy - - thank YOU for starting this thread! It's long overdue!

Miss Ralph is "Wonderful...What Can I say but wonderful" I love her,she is just utterly fierce. I longe for the day I can see her in a role on broadway. I've nevr seen Dreamgirls, and missed out on Thoroughly Modern Millie. I hope they consider her for the role of Elise Eliot(Goldie Hawn's role) in The First Wives Club. We already know she can do the type of music being composed because Holland Dozier Holland a large portion of Diana Ross classic's need I say more. Plus Sheryl has a wonderful comdedic sense and she could really play the role of overhill diva wonderfully.

Wow! I cannot believe it has been 15 years! Time flies when you are being a diva, huh? Singingbackup, I am glad that you happened to run into her and had a great experience. I have never had the pleasure of speaking with her but I can only assume that she would be utterly fabulous.
