Sheryl's gone with her bad self, she's got under control on "Dreamgirls". Sheryl and Jennifer Holliday did their performance on "Dreamgirls", that Jennifer got her soulful, preached out voice, and Sheryl got her 4 "S" are: soulful, sexier, sweeter, and seductive voice.

re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

I've always enjoyed Sheryl's work on TV & in the movies, however I've only ever seen her perform live in "Millie." Her father is actually one of my professors - he's a pretty neat guy re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

Wow, her dad is a professor? I didn't know that. I wish I would have been able to see her in "Millie".
She recently did a concert version of "Applause" in L.A.
I hope she gets a cameo in the new "Dreamgirls" film.

That's right! I forgot she did the APPLAUSE concert. How was that? They should revive that with her in the lead. Where do I sign the petition?

re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

Yes, Marquise. I read about her doing APPLAUSE...but I live in NY. re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph When I mentioned it to him he mentioned that she was SO excited to be doing it. From what I've read she was FABULOUS! I'm sorry I had to miss it.

Don't feel bad. I'm in culturally malnourished Miami. I missed SLR in Applause too. re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

WonderBoy, I'll be signature number two. re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

Oh, Marquise - her father also composed the Cantata for the State of Connecticut. He's got alot of great stories too. re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

This is a great post. I heard that when they were contemplating bringing a black woman on to "Desperate Housewives" Sheryl's was one of the name's batted around. Any of you hollywood insiders know if this is true? I still can't fathom why they decided on Alfre Woodard (I love her, but not for that show) Maybe Sheryl would've given them Wisteria Lane broads too much *In my best Deena Jones impersonation* "competition."

re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

I would love to see an a black show much like Dallas or Dynasty and Sheryl Lee Ralph in Alexis type role. I too loved her in The Mighty Quinn. I find myself somtimes humming the song she song in that movie.

re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

I saw Sheryl do the Margo Channing role here in LA for Reprise! and she was great. Really made the role her own, not channeling Bette or Lauren. And she can actually sing which helps immensely if your only exposure to the show is the cast album. The whole cast was first rate, though still not really a very good show. But she brought down the house the night I saw it. She was fierce!

See, I really like APPLAUSE and I cannot think of anyone else who would be better suited to bring it back to Broadway and play that role. So, we have two signatures on the petition. Any others?

re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

Me too. And I'd also like to second the motion she play Elise Elliot in The First Wives Club. That would be a great role for her.

re: The Goddess Sheryl Lee Ralph

Oh, yeah! I could definitely see her playing Elise in 'The First Wives Club'!
