I bought this in Dress Circle- I already have the double cd of the concert version and the OLC on vinyl.
Well, you don't have to be a completist to enjoy this recording- it is stunning. The CD is beautifully produced and every singer is strong and full of character. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
If you've never heard 'The Hired Man', get it NOW! It is possibly the finest British score of the last 30 years. 'No Choir of Angels' is so beautiful I had tears in my eyes just listening to the CD! I really wish I had seen the tour last year.
The only thing that could make me happier would be a re-mastered transfer of the OLC- Julia Hills at her very finest!
