What a wonderful opening night!
The American Thater Web review captures how I felt about it:
" With some judicious trims to the script delivered by a predominantly new cast, Joy has become an effervescent romantic comedy that bounces buoyantly and intelligently along...It's about romance, and as a late entry in a busy summertime theater season in New York, Joy delivers marvelously."

I thought it was very cute. The guy who played Gabriel was fantastic. The guy who played Paul reminded me of Eric McCormick of Will and Grace.
The American Indian dance had me gasping for air.
I really enjoyed Joy.

What wonderful news! Had caught the show last week and thought it a "joyful" piece of work! Christopher Sloan as Gabriel stood out from the cast, for me, as did both the female actresses. The "sketches" of the pantomine of the meeting between Keegan and Elsa in addition to the Indian dance were sidesplittingly hysterical. To the point where I cramped up twice.
May Joy have a long and healthy run!

That's fantastic news! It's nice to see that there is a gay-themed show every once in a while worth seeing. =)
What is the rush policy at this theatre? Standing room? I'm just looking to get cheap tickets. =)

I know I haven't seen the show since it transferred, so maybe I'm not really at liberty to judge, but did anybody else really not see what all the fuss was about when it played a few months ago?
I agree with Corine, thinking back on it, sure, it was cute, but I still don't understand the raves it was getting at the time. The book definitely needed some work, which is acceptable, but I really wasn't blown away by it. I really liked Harris, but at the end of the night, I was glad the ticket was free.
