Why not?
Everyone else seems to get one, and after the stunning performance she gave this evening, she deserves one. Plus, all the positive comments about her performance are currently being lumped into a thread about the whereabouts of Kerry Ellis. So....here we are...
Julie continues to amaze me in this role, and I hope to God she gets to succeed Kerry Ellis or something, because this girl is the best Elphaba they've had in a LONG time.
As usual, she knocked it out of the park again tonight. This was my third time seeing her, and her performance is always so fresh, and I'm always discovering these little nuances she has. Tonight it was her reactions to the Boq/Nessarose bit in the Wicked Witch of the East scene, when she is standing off to the side.
She had a different riff tonight on the end of Defying Gravity that was awesome. As usual, her No Good Deed was crazy good.
Funny mishap tonight...during One Short Day, one of the ribbons got stuck in the wheel of one of the moving platforms that slide on and off stage. The ensemble member who was using it got himself all tangled up, and then they couldn't yank it out, so he dropped it and carried on. Then you saw the ribbon get pulled taut as the (presumably) stage crew tried to yank it off from offstage. Finally, the Wiz-O Mania guy went over and untangled it.

She is not my favorite Elphaba standby, but she is up there. Certainly a case could be made that she is stronger than some of the fulltimes.
I wouldn't say best in a long time. I prefer Lisa to her, and she was recently promoted.
I am glad that she's back with the show, though. I prefer her loads more than Teal Wicks.
She was phenomenal tonight. I think she is definitely my favorite Elphaba and coming from a HUGE Stephanie fan its not an easy thing for me to say.

If anyone deserves to be the next Broadway Elphaba, it's Julie Reiber.
She is amazingly talented.
Not to mention beautiful. She is truly one of the rare women who play Elphaba who look stunning both green and un-green.
not only is she extremly talented, shes nice too. she alwayds replys to your messages on facebook (when its convenient (sp?) for her) and she has such a bubbly personality.
i think (dont kill me kerry fans) she should have gotten the lead over kerry. shes just a powerhouse

adamgreer,
What was her reaction in the Nessa/Boq scene?
The 2 times I seen her she had a different reaction but there was also two different Nessa's also.
I am all for Julie becoming the full time Elphie when Kerry goes back home to London. I don't think the producers will slap her in the face twice. At least I hope they don't.
When Boq was announcing to Nessa his desire to leave, Reiber's Elphaba, based on her facial expressions, felt just as much pain as Nessarose did. You really got the sense that Elphaba really did care deeply about her sister.

That's the impression I get from her too. She almost started crying when I saw her with Cristy. With Lori Ann it was bit different but she still had the same look on her face. Lori Ann's Nessa was a LiL meaner to her though. Pushing her away when she tried to comfort her in that part where Nessa walks over to the table so Julie was a LiL more angry with her.
i love her too and she has such an amazing voice. i also agree she has that lovely and wonderful connection with cristy. by far one of the top three standybys for elphie the other two are sho and lisa.
julie and kendra have a tight bond together onstage that is so sweet and caring. loved when julie immidates kendra during what is this feeling. yes i agree julie is a sweetheart and nice.

She is incredibly difficult to work with.
"She is incredibly difficult to work with."
what makes you say that?

I've worked with her before--and these testimonials were starting to make me nauseous.
I have seen Lisa, Stephanie, and Julie and I have to say Julie was the best by far. She has improved so much since LA, which is hard to believe being that she was fricken amazing in LA! I saw her on 6/28/08 and I am still in awe from her performance.
I went into the theatre very anti-Julie because I had my heart set on seeing Kerry but by the time I came out of the theatre she was my favorite and still is my favorite Elphaba!
Her acting was amazing, the best I have seen yet! She made everything so believable, during parts like, "I'm Not That Girl" I almost starting crying, it really seemed like she was feeling the pain and sorrow and not just the character she was playing. I don't even know where to begin with her singing, every song was amazing. I must say though that her "The Wizard and I", "I'm Not That Girl", "Defying Gravity" and "No Good Deed" were by far some of her best songs!
She is also SO NICE after the show.
I would love to see Julie become principle and I would love to see her again!
She is great!
