like TheBoyDownstairs, I heard a track from the cd once and fell madly in love. the score is amazing and the story, gorgeous. I always cry at the end of Nobody Needs to Know, even though its not one of the best points in the couple's lives, the piano part just makes me tear up. I heard A Summer In Ohio on Seth's radio show just when it was announced that Sherie Renee Scott was going into The little Mermaid and he played that song, saying it was something that she did before. If the show came to New York, i would see it and recomend it to everyone I know
I remember...I was going to a party in college with a friend of mine and she had a huge collection of cast recordings. I told her to play a really awesome song for me. She played "Climbing Uphill" from TL5Y and I was so blow away and was hooked from that point forward.

I first heard "The Next Ten Minutes," which I just fell in love with and is still one of my favorite musical theatre songs.
The part that makes me cry is "Goodbye Until Tomorrow," though.

In my opinion, it's the best written show of our generation. . .

I actually agree with Reva. Perhaps not THE best written, but certainly one of them. There is something about TL5Y that hits a chord with me - if I listen to it all the way through, and actually immerse myself into the plot, I'm an emotional wreck at the end. There just isn't much else that does that for me.

I actually don't think it's that well-written. I love the score and it's a good show, but definitely not the best-written show of our generation. Jamie is basically shown as nothing but a selfish jerk and Cathy's pretty hollow as a character.
My problem is you never really understand why they liked each other in the first place.
