I turned to Fox and they have to list as many Longest running Broadway Shows as possible.

How many can you name?

The challenge was to list 15.
They listed:
Cats
PotO
ACL
Les Mis
Lion King
South Pacific

West Side Story (Was not on the list)

I don't like how they didn't define "top" Broadway shows. I mean, Wicked is easily one of the most successful musicals of all time, but it hasn't existed long enough to be one of the longest-running, so it wasn't on the list.

I was more excited about the Disney category. I tested myself. In six minutes, I named over 30 animated Disney movies from memory.

I SO need to get on that show.

Watch, I'll get on and get the category "Famous American Generals in World War I."

Broadway would certainly be corrupted if Wicked becomes the longest running show on Broadway.

Only one Sondheim show, Forum, and that still didn't break the 1,000 mark!

Quantity does not necessarily mean quality...

Why? CATS is up there, and I would say that WICKED is infinitely better than CATS; and I didn't even like WICKED!

Beat me to it Johnboy. Grease is another long running show that comes to mind that isn't exactly banging the quality gong.

I think it's just a quick way to tell everyone what exquisite taste you have to bash Wicked. What's funny is that if it HAD bombed, and run for 30 performances, I suspect the same people would line up to rave about it's unappreciated genius. Humans are such unusual animals.

Yeah because how dare it replace the top two intellectual giants like Cats and Phantom. If you're looking to join the "cool" club by bashing Wicked then at least do it in the right context. re: The List - Fox - Top 50 Broadway Shows

That could actually be tough. Do they mean list 15 shows that were at one point the longest-running? I can name eight for sure: Les Mis, Phantom, CATS, A Chorus Line, Oh, Calcutta!, Oklahoma!, Hello, Dolly, Fiddler on the Roof. I believe those have all been the longest-running show on Broadway at one point.
