The moderators took it down
EDIT: I'm continually in awe how all these people get a hold of top secret demos and things like this. It never fails to astonish me

Posted: 10/4/05 at 12:02pmYes, I have seen the MGM version, a long time ago. I do think that it's neat how the puupets "glow in the dark" kind of, that's a good idea. And doesn't it lightly rain at some point? And when King Triton destroys the grotto I think, there are all these lasers. It does have its neat points. I just think the way Ariel sits on the rock as a mermaid is kind of lame. I know they will do better for Broadway though (hopefully)

YESSSSS Somebody knows what I'm talking about.....yeah I did think it was LAME that she sat on the rock the WHOLE show....and I liked how we were all under the sea..and they used laser lights to let you know you were under the sea in the whole auditorium.
I wish Ursula had been a real person...though...Harvey would be perfect as Ursula.

Bring in Whoopi Goldberg or Cathy Bates. That would be hysterical

Posted: 10/4/05 at 10:05pmDoes anyone know if there are any pics of the inflated Ursula from The Little Mermaid on Ice? I remeber seeing one a long time ago and it looked kind of neat.

Candidate No. 2: Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester) Bold and the Beautiful. The perfect pipes and the perfect look. All you have to do is paint her purple and stick her in an octopus outfit

Candidate No. 3: Kathy Bates. If she can pull off Misery, then this is Child's Play (and she sings good too)

Fourth, and second last, candidate (trust me, I'm on lunchbreak here: so I don't have all the time on my hands like you think LOL)
Roseanne Barr. Anyone see her as the Wicked Witch? She could have a huge revival with this

And if you can't have Kathleen, then Lauren Lane's a good choice. She was C.C. in The Nanny
#92re: The Little Mermaid...
Posted: 10/5/05 at 11:06amYeah and I could see her also.

I think if Lauren Lane played Ursula I could probably keel over and die...
of happiness and joy.
She's phenomenal.
And actually, the demo makes too many references to Ursula's weight... but in that version, she's supposedly really thin.
I'm not sure if they mean that Ursula thinks she's lost weight even though she's obese or if she's actually thin and they want the audience to get used to the new look for her.

Posted: 10/5/05 at 8:42pmLauren Lane IS Ursula. The woman was genius on The Nanny (She and Daniel Davis were the PERFECT comedic duo). I would most definately buy a ticket to see her in the role. Who cares about physique? Lauren Lane as Ursula would be worth the price of admission.
